One Year Anniversary! :)

Today was our One Year Anniversary! We had a very relaxing day and then had dinner at Medieval Times. It was great fun! We were on the red team, and naturally our guy won the battle for the King! We also had some of our wedding cake. I was kind of nervous about this b/c you just think this is one year old, but it was actually really good still. We watched Crazy heart. It was a good movie, I really liked the music in the movie. If Jeff Bridges really was singing he is really good at it. Some other movies I want to try and see soon: Whip It, An Education, The Lovely Bones, The Young Victoria, The Blind Side, Amelia, and Adam. I got a lot to see :) No word yet, maybe this week.

New Layout

I have uploaded a new layout and am trying to move things around so I like it. Once I get it finished I will leave it this way and not change it anymore. LOL. Nothing new yet from peace corps. I am constantly checking my e-mail to see if we got an update from them, but no. So I have to be patient and wait. Next post will be when we find something out! Hopefully soon :)

13.1 Miles...Oh Yes I did!!!

WOW! Yesterday I ran my very first 1/2 marathon! It felt amazing to cross that finish line. It was hard work getting there, but I finished in 2:57, one minute behind my sister. That was also the fastest time we had ran so far. Woohoo go us! Now I'm not much of a runner, so this was very difficult for me and I don't think I ever get that runner's high they talk about, becuase I am always ready to stop, but I did enjoy the race very much and would like to do another one someday! (I can't believe that I am saying that!) We had a great time and I am soooooo glad that our family can out to support us! It was so nice having someone you knew cheering you on. Today I am not as sore as I thought I would be; my knee is a little sore, but that's ok because it just got me through 13.1 miles! I am so excited and proud of myself. Here are some pics after we finished the race. Enjoy! (No word from peace corps yet, hopefully soon!)

Medical Clearance!!

Ryan and I have received our medical clearances for the peace corps! Now we are on to the next steps (oh there are so many steps) where the placement team in Washington, D.C. decides if we should receive an invitation or not, and where we would serve. Now our hands and peace corps future lays in the hands of the placement team. Maybe we will hear from them sooner or maybe not, so Ryan and I are still expecting to hear something at the end of April, which is around the corner. We are very excited we have been cleared and are excited in waiting to hear what the next bit of news is for us.

SUNDAY is RACE DAY!!!!!! Kristy and I will be running 13.1 miles on Sunday and I feel like I am ready. I know it will be hard, but I'm ready.

On the other hand, keep my brother in your prayers. He had some issues this past weekend with his hip/leg and has found out not so good news. He might have to have a major surgery. I just pray that whatever he needs to go through that he will stay healthy and not become wheelchair bound or paralyzed. We should find out more information from his doctor on Thursday, I hope the docs figure out the best thing for him. God keep a hand over him.
